    Market Orientation and Innovation Performance: Mediating Effects of Customer Engagement in SMEs

    This study's objective is to develop an innovation performance model based on the role of market orientation and customer engagement. Market-oriented practices through customer engagement will enable companies to achieve innovation performance. This research was conducted on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) engaged in manu-facturing in Bali. A conceptual model was developed to determine the mediating role of customer engagement in the relationship between market orientation and innovation performance. The research design used was cross-sectional. Quantitative data were collected from 242 respondents by distributing questionnaires to managers and own-ers of manufacturing SMEs in Bali. The model was tested using Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of this study show that market orientation has a significant positive effect on innovation performance, market orientation has a positive effect on customer engagement, customer engagement has a positive effect on innovation performance, and customer engagement partially mediates the relationship between market orienta-tion and innovation performance. The results of this study are expected to be able to increase managers' insight and understanding of the mechanisms of how market ori-entation and customer engagement can contribute to innovation performance in ex-port-oriented SMEs

    The effect of entrepreneurial orientation variables on business performance in the SME industry context

    The purpose of this study is to provide new practical and theoretical insights into how small andmedium-sized enterprises (SMEs) adjust and further develop business competencies, innovations andperformance by using market orientation, learning orientation behaviors and entrepreneurial orientation. The data was collected from manufacturing SMEs of textile productsthat had a number of employees between 5 and 99 people in the province of Bali, Indonesia, in 2016. Baliprovince was chosen as a research location because Bali was one of the tourism centers in Indonesia and evenin the world was considered suitable for this research. It was because it had textile product industries thatcontributed in the fulfillment of the needs of tourism clothing, national economy, the fulfillment of fashionneeds and foreign exchange contributors from non-oil exports (Industry and Trade Service of Bali). Based on the results of descriptive and inferential analysis that has been conducted, it can beconcluded that the answer to the problems and objectives that have been determined is market orientation,learning orientation and entrepreneurial orientation affect business performance through knowledge competenceand innovation directly and its influence is significantly positive. But market orientation, learning orientation andentrepreneurial orientation do not directly have a significant positive effect on innovation through knowledgecompetence. Market orientation, learning orientation and entrepreneurship orientation indirectly have asignificant positive effect on businessperformance through knowledgeand innovation competencies

    Inscription is one of written sources about religious life of people in the past. In the inscription from ancient Bali period between the 9th to 12th century AD, it was mentioned the term ‘hermitage’ which used to build self spirituality. This research aims to know what hermitage servants are and their roles based on ancient Bali inscription in 9th to 12th century. The data, both primary and secondary, were collected through literature study. The result is inscription data from 9 to 12th century and artifact evidences in the form of hermitage building. Based on that data it is know that hermitage servants at the time is called ‘samgat wilang patapan’ and ‘samgat tapa haji’, who was responsible to build hermitage, collect tax, maintain and care for the hermitage. Prasasti merupakan salah satu sumber tertulis mengenai kehidupan religius masyarakat masa lalu. Pada prasasti masa Bali Kuno abad ke-9 sampai 12 Masehi terdapat penyebutan pertapaan, yang dimanfaatkan untuk membina spiritualitas diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui petugas pertapaan dan perannya berdasarkan prasasti Bali Kuno abad ke-9 sampai 12 Masehi, yang data-datanya baik primer maupun sekunder, diperoleh melalui studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini berupa data-data prasasti abad ke-9 sampai 12 Masehi, dan bukti-bukti artefaktual berupa bangunan pertapaan pada masa tersebut. Berdasarkan data tersebut diketahui bahwa petugas pertapaan pada masa itu disebut sebagai samgat wilang patapan dan samgat tapa haji, yang bertugas membangun pertapaan, pemungut/pengumpul pajak, menjaga, dan merawat bangunan pertapaan

    An Integrative Model of Market Orientation on Innovation Performance

    Objective –This paper seeks to provide new insights into the relationship between market orientation and innovation performance by empirically testing the direct effect of market orientation (MO) on innovation performance and exploring the effects of moderation in marketing constructs, namely customer relationship management (CRM) and knowledge management, in these relationships. Methodology/Technique – This study adopts a cross-sectional research design. Data is collected from export-oriented manufacturing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia. The data is analysed using PLS structural equation modeling. Findings – Our findings reveal that MO is a significant driver of innovation performance. The results further confirm that CRM plays a moderating role in the interrelation between market orientation and innovation performance. In addition, market orientation and knowledge management have a positive effect on innovation performance. Novelty – These results prove that the interaction of CRM and knowledge management with market orientation, each have a significant impact on innovation performance. Market orientation behavior more effectively achieves innovation performance in manufacturing SMEs if the MO is interactive with CRM and knowledge management. This research adds new insights to the existing literature and has implications for future research and marketing practices in Indonesia, giving implications for marketing managers and export researchers about managing market orientation, CRM development, and knowledge management

    Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan pelayanan prima Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi Politeknik Negeri Bali dan kendala pelaksanaan pelayanan prima yang terjadi pada setiap titik pelayanannya. Desain/metodologi/pendekatan: Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui observasi, wawancara, dan eksplorasi online. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model interaktif id. Temuan: Implementasi pelayanan prima Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi Politeknik Negeri Bali telah berjalan dengan baik. Dari seluruh layanan yang diberikan, terdapat integrasi layanan yang menghubungkan satu sama lain, tidak terpisahkan sehingga pelaksanaan layanan prima di Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi Politeknik Negeri Bali berjalan dengan konsep integral antara input-proses-output layanan. Implikasi: Setiap proses pelatihan diawali dengan penyediaan informasi yang dapat dipercaya, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan proses administrasi, proses pembelajaran dan pelatihan yang berkualitas, dan proses pelatihan yang kredibel
